You are viewing a Vintage Matrix portable Braille Machine Model G No 1263 on Wooden Base
I believe this to be 20th Century in date, made by Coventry Gauge and Tool company Ltd for the Royal National Institute for The Blind London W1.
Not sure how it works or if it is all complete - if you have any information more please do email and i will add it to the listing, any help is appreciated.I have just received a message from a very helpful ebayer - it goes as follows: The machine is used for Braille Shorthand. It prints onto narrow paper tape which is on a roll which runs through the metal guide at the back. My mum used one in the 1960s and 1970s to take shorthand in an office. When you press the keys it pushes up to make the embossed dots. There are six dots with various combinations to make words.
